- Prepare 1/2 cup of pigeon peas(Tuvar dal).
- You need 1/2 cup of moong dal(green gram lentil).
- It's 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.
- It's 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Prepare to taste of Salt.
- It's 2 tbsp of ghee.
- Prepare 1 of medium onion finally chopped.
- You need 1 of medium tomato finally chopped.
- You need 2 of green chillies finally chopped.
- You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
- You need 1 tsp of asafoetida.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of garlic finally chopped.
- You need 1 tbsp of corinder leaves.

Tuvar dal khichadi instructions
- Combine drained the rice, pigeon peas, green gram lentil, chilli powder, tumeric powder, salt, green chillies and 21/2 cup water in pressure cooker and mix well.cover and place on heat and pressure cook till 3whistle are realsed..
- Heat a pan add ghee. Add cumin seed and change the colour add asafoetida and saute..
- Add garlic and saute. Add onion and till golden brown. Add tomato and saute till soft. Add red chili powder, salt and mix and cook for 1 minute..
- Add cook rice mixture, mix and cook for 2min.add coriander leaves mix well.
- Ready to hot dal khichadi some ghee on top and serve with pickle, yogurt, popadom..
